Friends’ Private Evening 12.03 2026

Thursday 12.03 2026 at 17:30 & 19:00 GUIDED TOURS FOLLOWED BY A COCKTAIL FR/NL

In the exhibition “Art x Gender”, produced in partnership with UCLouvain, the museum’s collections are questioned about the prejudices they convey. Works from all eras, some of which are being exhibited for the first time, take up stereotypes that have long been anchored in our Western societies and of which we are no longer aware.

For subscription: 15€ per person (20€ for the non-members) on bank account BE46 3100 4042 4636/BBRUBEBB named “Les amis des musées royaux Beaux-Arts Belgique ASBL”. Please mention your name, the n° of your membership card, the date, the time and the language (FR or NL). No subscription or payment accepted on the day of the visit. 10.03 2026 > ART DECO: CITY HALL OF FOREST
After a complete renovation that lasted 10 years, the Forest town hall finally opens its doors to us! A major work of the architect Jean Baptiste Dewin of Forest, the town hall was inaugurated in 1938 after 3 years of work and 10 years of discussions.Designed in the Art Deco style, this building has an obvious filiation with the Stoclet Palace, in particular by the off-centre tower, pierced by long vertical windows and decorated with sculptures. The Art Deco style is magnified here, the sculptures and bas-reliefs are made by great artists including Victor Rousseau. The stained glass windows are creations by Gaston Baltus and executed by Florent Colpaert. This very successful renovation is now visible to all. Meeting at 13:15 in front of the town hall, rue du Curé 2, 1190 Brussels. Visit in French. 16 entrances offered.

19.05 2026 > ANCIENT GREECE AND THE MAGNIFICENT VASE COLLECTION at the Art & History Museum.
The curator will introduce us to one of the jewels of the Museum’s collections, the magnificent collection of Greek vases integrated into the Ancient Greece collection. The visit offers a chronological tour from the Neolithic to the time of the Hellenistic rulers. These utilitarian objects (wine services, jewellery boxes, funerary offerings, etc.) are often decorated with figurative decorations evoking the military activity of the citizens, the camaraderie and drinking at the symposium, the marriage or the life of womenat the gynaecium. We also meet the procession of Greek gods and heroes, from Athena to Zeus, including Heracles or Theseus fighting the Minotaur. Meeting at 13:45 at the entranceof the Art & History Museum, parc du Cinquantenaire,1000 Brussels. Visit in FR. 20 entrances.

06.06 2026 > “PIETER, JAN, AND THE OTHERS; BRUEG. H.EL: FAMILY BUSINESS”, in our Museums.
Our museum possesses, after Vienna, the richest collection of paintings by Pieter I Brueghel. But he is also rich in the works of his sons Pieter II and Jan I Brueghel. To examine these works is to take stock of what brings together or separates those who have been nicknamed “the funny”, “hell” or “velvet”, to discover their contemporaries and the artists with whom they sometimes shared workshops, themes and… families! It also means crossing the rich cultural, social and political contexts of humanism, the wars of religion or the baroque period.
Meeting at 13:45 in the Forum of the RMFAB, rue de la Régence 3, 1000 Brussels. Visit in FR. 15 entrances offered.
