04.10 2025 > ART DECO : RIEZ BUILDING, A GEM OF THE ART DECO LOCATED IN THE MARITIME QUARTER of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean.

In the heart of the Maritime district, the Riez building, built in 1927-1928, has been well maintained by the de Molinari family, on behalf of CDA, owner for more than fifty years. Planned and designed by the architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin for Joachim Riez, a businessman specialized in the sale of building material, the building offered at the same time offices occupied by the Compagnie Industrielle du Rupel as well as on the upper floor a very prestigious flat. Inside, the visitor will discover the original decors inspired by the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925, furniture and fittings signed by De Coene Frères located in Courtrai and a kitchen suitable for a Hollywood film! If the weather allows, an architectural walk in the district is also planned.

14.10 2025 > EXHIBITION LUZ Y SOMBRA: GOYA AND THE SPANISH REALISM at Bozar.

Francisco Goya (1746-1828) is well known for his monumental portraits of the high society as well for his traditional paintings
of popular festivals. But also, as a contrast, for his wild and staggering scenes showing abuses and atrocities of that time. The main exhibition of EUROPALIA ESPAÑA gathers engravings and paintings of Goya from collections of around the world, conversing with works from his contemporary artists but also with more recent artists up to today. The whole exhibition explores the Goya formal, conceptual and ideological heritage whose works have contributed to build the collective imagination of the so-called “Spanish” and which still continue to puzzle, to affect and to inspire.

07.11 2025 > FROM BOUTS TO BRUEGEL in the collections of our Old Masters Museum.

A visit to discover the amazing symbolic richness and the technical achievements of our local artists. From the end of the Middle Ages to the climax of humanism, we will discover the “Primitifs” and the majors of the Flemish Renaissance.

29.11 2025 > MUSEUM IN QUESTIONS: ART X GENDER in our Museums’ collections.

Gender issues lead to research and debates for some 50 years now. This autumn, we will raise the subject through samples chosen in our collections, from Lucas Cranach to Evelyne Axell, how images and art works reinforce or question clichés and stereotypes by developing the themes of the couple, the roles and symbolic assigned to sexes. A visit to multiply the various points of view of the artists and/or the visitors.

We are pleased to return to Antwerp to celebrate the Contemporary Art. Entrance, guided tour, a glass of champagne. It is also an opportunity to discover this amazing city

Invitation to visit the BRAFA 2026, entrance, guide, glass of champagne and catalogue (1 for 2 visitors).

Meeting at 11:15 in Hall 4 of Brussels Expo. Place de Belgique 1,1020 Brussels. 
20 entrances available with a participation of 20€.

 

In order to widen access to these activities, registrations will be limited to 1 activity per person (2 for patron members) during the 20 days following dispatch of this booklet. After this date, the remaining places will be filled on the usual basis (first registered, first served). If you are interested in more than one activity, please list them in order of preference.

If you would like to take part in a More For Friends activity, registration is compulsory via the email moreforfriends@gmail.com, stating your surname, first name and membership card number (these activities are reserved for members who have paid their membership fees by the date of the event). Only confirmation of registration will give access to the tour. Only registrations received by this mailbox will be taken into account. Contemporary Art circuit

Under the well specialised and enthusiastic guidance of Sophie Godts, the Friends will continue to explore the richness of the Contemporary Art in Brussels.

The format remains the same! 5 Saturdays in well-known or lesser-known Art spaces, different for each visit. The following Saturdays have been selected > 11.10, 08.11, 22.11 2025 & 24.01, 07.02 2026 at 14:30

Attention ! In order to extend the access of these visits to more members, it has been decided to give priority, during the first 15 days following the mailing of the booklet, to the Friends who did not participate in the previous tour, i.e. during the spring-summer 2025. The registrations will be processed 15 days after the mailing of the booklet.
